REVIEW...

OBJECTIVE
Review other project similar with my project.
The project name "Prepaid Energy Meter" .

CONTENT

CONCLUSION
The project different with my project because i'm using:
Power Meter: Generate pulse from power consumption and give signal to Microcontroller (PIC16F877A)
- RFID: Used Smart Card to add the amount of credit

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

This project provides both the suppliers and the consumers with better services regarding meter billing and payment. The LCD panel will display the balance amount reduce from power consumption and buzzer will be hint before the whole amount is reduced. It can help a make easier of customer:

            Reduced Financial Risks
Since the payment is up-front, it reduces the financial risk by improving the            cash flows and necessitates an improved revenue management system.

           Better Customer Service
The system eliminates billing delay, removes cost involved in           disconnection/reconnection, enables controlled use of energy, and helps    customers to save money through better energy management.

         No Monthly Bills Distribution
With prepaid meters didn’t need to send monthly usage bills for electricity.
     No Deposits
With prepaid meters didn’t need to take deposits for electricity from tenants. All collection is the first pre-payment for electricity.
    Improved Operational Efficiencies
The prepaid meters are likely to cut the cost of meter reading as no meter readers are required.

OBJECTIVE !!!!

OBJECTIVE
To make this project fully function by follow the on schedule.
Make this project useful for the human being nowadays and also for the future.

CONTENT

  • To emphasize the usage of electricity.
  • To monitor the cost of electricity usage.
  • The system can help user to predict budget for electricity billing.
CONCLUSION
Through the system:
  • the queue and the counter bill will be reduced
  • help consumers improve of their budget to reduce financial costs(bad debts)
  • all report about faulty system and technique inaccurate reading meter can be overcome

FULL OPERATION

OBJECTIVE
To show the operation system by designing the flow chart.

CONTENT
Flow Chart of "Home Electricity E-Paid System"

CONCLUSION
More understand about the system.
Start to do hardware for this system (power supply and socket)

HOW IT WORKS ???

OBJECTIVE
To know the operation system by designing the block diagram.

CONTENT

Block Diagram

POWER METER
- Power meter is already made.
- Generate pulse will display power consumption in unit KW
  (1000pulse = 1KW)

SMART CARD ( RFID)
- Using pre-paid energy meter: Smart Card already build stored data use barcode by using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification)
- The smart card is available at various ranges (i.e. Rm2, Rm10, Rm30).
- After user touch smart card on RFID reader  which is connected with  Microcontroller unit (PIC 16F876A).
- The RFID will read and stored information by using microcontroller then it will recognize the data and provides the appropriate operation.

MICROCONTROLLER ((PIC 16F876A)
- The microcontroller will act as the brain of the circuit.
-  It will constantly check the credit with accordingly and provide the power consumption depend on the credit amount.

LCD DISPLAY
- The amount of credit will be displayed at the LCD display.
- According to the power consumption the amount will be reduced.

RELAY and BUZZER
- When the credit is exhausted and not enough, the buzzer will be beeped and automatically relay will be cutoff the supply electricity for shutdown the whole system.
- Buzzer used as a reminder before the money directly out.

LED
- Red LED: Amount of credit is exhausted
- Green LED: Have amount of credit
- White LED: Signal for pulse and amount of credit reduced
- Orange LED:Power indicator

CONCLUSION
Next time, do overall flow chart for the system.
To make easy build the suitable circuit.
Best method to ensure cost-effective and easy to use aimed on payment billing.
